Our Commitment

G.N. Sikh School (GNSS) is committed to working towards full compliance with current standards of the Accessible British Columbia Act (June 2021) and the Accessible British Columbia Regulation (September 2022).

In doing so, we (GNSS) affirm our commitment to ensureing equal access and participation for people with disabilitie. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.

We believe in integration, and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and by meeting our accessibility requirements under Accessible British Columbia Act (June 2021) and the Accessible British Columbia Regulation (September 2022).

Accessibility Plan

GNSS is committed to develop, implement and maintain policies that govern how the organization achieves or will achieve accessibility through meeting this Regulation. To facilitate this commitment, GNSS is continuing to establish, maintain and document a multi-year accessibility (living) plan, that will be reviewed and updated at least once annually to identify progress made in addressing barriers and will be posted on the GNSS website. In doing so, GNSS has been and will be taking inspiration and guidance from the plans developed and practiced by Surrey Schools. Given our relatively limited needs and abilities, GNSS strives to customize a more precise plan in near future while we continue to take inspiration and guidance from the Accessibility Plan September 2023-26, developed by Surrey Schools.

Feedback process

The ultimate goal of GNSS is to meet and surpass client expectations while serving clients with disabilities. Comments on our services regarding how well those expectations are being met are welcome and appreciated. Feedback regarding the way GNSS provides services to people with disabilities, and on our feedback process itself, can be made by e-mail, verbally (over the phone or in-person) etc. All feedback will be directed to the Director of Administration. Clients can expect to hear back in 3-5 business days.
